With your support on the 4th July, I hope to make our wonderful neighbourhood even better. My priorities will be:
- Tackling crime and antisocial behaviour. Speaking to residents and business owners, it is clear that they are unhappy with the rising crime rates we have experienced under the current Mayor.
I will campaign for
- More police in the area,
- Improved community safety initiatives,
- A council-run enforcement team to get on top of antisocial behaviour.
- Improving access to healthcare services. I hear regularly about people facing longer waiting times for appointments, difficulties in accessing specialised care and pressure on mental health services.
I will campaign for
- More dental practices,
- An expansion of existing healthcare facilities to meet the needs of a growing population,
- Investment our hospitals need.
- Encouraging sustainable housing. We need more housing of all types to meet the needs of people who want to live in this wonderful constituency.
I will campaign for:
- Developments that maintain community character,
- Gentle densification without resorting to tall towers,
- Developments that do not put undue pressure on existing services.
- Promoting local business and jobs. We need to capitalise on the economic opportunities from the improved connectivity that the Elizabeth Line brings.
I will campaign for:
- Initiatives proposed by the Ealing and Acton Business Improvement Districts as well as the West London Chamber of Commerce,
- Higher quality jobs,
- More welcoming and safer high streets.
- Protecting our green spaces. The green spaces we have are at the heart of the community. They are much loved by families and community groups.
I will campaign for:
- Protection of these spaces from Council development,
- Improved biodiversity in our parks,
- Planting more trees.
- Supporting our local schools. We are fortunate to have fantastic schools in the area that provide an excellent education to our children. I don’t want our education system tampered with.
I will campaign for:
- Higher per pupil funding,
- The removal of Labour’s proposed parent tax on fee-paying schools,
- More support for Special Educational Needs pupils.
